CAVMEN - Chicago Area
                      VM (and Linux) Enthusiasts

October 22, 2015 Meeting

Meeting Agenda:

9:00 AM Centrify: UNIX/Linux Identity Consolidation, Least Privilege Access Enforcement, and Auditing
Centrify has been helping customers utilize a centralized authentication repository across platforms within their environment. This includes Windows, Mac, UNIX, and Linux systems that now can leverage the Kerberos environment provided to an organization by Microsoft Active Directory. This means Red Hat or SUSE Linux instances running on the IBM environment as virtualized hosts. This includes the following topics:
  • Identity Consolidation - Reduce risk and streamline operations by automating discovery of identity-related issues, eliminating redundant identity stores, and tying access controls and privileged accounts to a single, centrally managed Microsoft Active Directory identity.
  • Central Policy Control - Centrally control security and configuration policies across Linux, UNIX and Mac systems using familiar Windows Group Policy tools.
  • Privileged Identity Management - Eliminate the problem of too many users having too broad and unmanaged administrative power -- Enable flexible, role-based assignment of privileges, enforce granular controls not possible with native Operating System tools, and tie all privileged activity to an individual.
  • Privileged User Session Auditing - Mitigate insider threats and meet compliance requirements with full audit trails and session capture of privileged user activity on Windows, Linux and UNIX servers.
The speaker will be Wade Tongen, Centrify North American Commercial Systems Engineering Manager.
