| zEnterprise 114 Update
|
| IBM announced the new zEnterprise 114 on July 12, 2011 which will begin shipping in Sept 2011. The IBM zEnterprise 114 is an extension of
the hybrid model that IBM introduced a year ago when the zEnterprise 196 was announced. With this new offering positioned alongside the
z196, there is now a new entry point of hybrid computing providing a hybrid option for clients of all sizes. IBM continues to enhance
System z not just with new mainframe centric capabilities, but by providing greater flexibility and choice for clients to build the System
zEnterprise into their integrated service management model. The hybrid computing model of the zEnterprise with the addition of x86 and
Power blade opens up the benefits of the hybrid model to a whole new set of workloads providing superior qualities of service exclusive to
System z.
