9:00 AM VM TCP/IP Update
IBM continues to make investments in TCP/IP to try to deliver the key functions that customers need. This presentation reviews how the TCP/IP for VM product has evolved, outlines enhancements made since Function Level 310 was delivered with VM/ESA 2.3.0, describes the new features in Function Level 320, and gives a glimpse of future new capabilities.

This brief presentation explains how Linux evolved in the context of Unix system development. It describes the key attributes of Linux and identifies some important issues that must be addressed in order for Linux on S/390 to be successful.

1:45 PM Linux for S/390
Late last year, IBM released to open source changes to the Linux kernel that allowed it to run on S/390. Since that time, a lot has happened to make this development more than a mere curiosity. This presentation reviews what has occurred since that release and looks at the role VM can play to add value to Linux for S/390.
